 Tokyo is the city where the line between real life and fantasy melts.  This is obvious if you visit Akihabara, the shrine of Japanimation and other subcultures.

Such places are not only in Akihabara.  In Roppongi is a bar that came from the world of a game. 

The name of the bar is “Luida’s Bar”.  It is the name of a bar which appears in the famous JRPG, “Dragon Quest”.  Waitresses are wearing the uniform of Luida, the owner character of the bar, and there are many displays of goods from Dragon Quest, such as swords, armors and emblems.

Foods and drinks also related to the game.  There are cocktails and soft drinks with names of portions in the game, such as Passion Merazoma (Merazoma is a magic word in the game).  In the food menu is a steamed meat bun with a face of Slime, a character in Dragon Quest.

Kimono is very expensive to buy.  Some are very cheap, but those are inferior in quality…But there is a way to purchase high-quality Kimono at a relatively low price: visiting an used Kimono shop.

Of course, these Kimono are not brand new, some of them have stain, but there are many chances to encounter Kimono from the 20th, 19th century, or from an even older period.  Just taking a look at the old Kimono with traditional patterns and retro coloring is exciting!

A limited-time planetarium is on in Roppongi Hills.  This is not an ordinari planetarium.  There is no dome-ceiling, no seat, and though the vision is 3D, no special glasses are necessary.  This ‘Sky Planetarium’ is where  you walk through outer space!

In the 1st zone, you will see the sky of Roppongi.  On the floor is the miniature model of Tokyo, and on the surrounding screen is the starry sky.  Few stars are seen in Tokyo because of the dazzling city lights, but here, we will see numerous stars, even the ones which cannot be seen by the naked eye.

In the 2nd zone is the 3D night sky.  Normally, we only see stars from our Earth, but in this room, we can see the stars from the viewpoint of outerspace.  The constellations look nothing like what it is from Earth!

In the 3rd, and last zone, we will be taken to the farthest edge of outer space.  First, we are in Japan.  As the vision sooms out, we see the Earth, the Solar System, galaxy, zoom out more and more, and we arrive at the uttermost end of the space.

To get a vision of the real space, a 20 meters above the planetarium is the sky deck of Roppongi Hills.  You can see the sky on gross, and there are rental telescopes.  On weekends, astronomical observations with the guide of an astronomer are held.

Winter is the best season to look on the sky, for the air is very clear.  Surely this event will add a touch of color to your night in Roppongi.

The name is ‘Roppongi Horror Dining Trick or Treat’.  As it is shown in the name, you will be in a nightmare at this restaurant!

At the entrance, a gravestone will welcome you.
In the dark light of the restaurant, horror movies are on air, and numerous dolls are displayed.
The master, in a frightening costume, will take you to your seat…

The menu is pretty normal (at least most of them are), bu they are served on wierd, freaky dishes.

This restauraut must be great for halloween parties, but it is open all year, so come over anytime you like!
Celebrities such as Quentin Tarantino and Tim Burton are said to be fans of this restaurant, so if you have luck, you may meet someone!
