Shopping Japanese Stationary

If you are to take in Japanese taste into your life, using Japanese stationary may be one step. Kyukyodo (薐??????) is a?old stationary and insence shop, which started in 1663.? There are 2 stores, one in Kyoto, and one in Ginza, Tokyo. Kyukyodo deals in various articles, such as letter brushes, Origami, accessories, etc. Among all, I reccomend you letter papers.? The designs differ from season to season.? For example, letter papers with drawings of cherry blossoms are displayed in spring, and in autumn, crimson foliage. Everytime you visit the shop, the displays would be different from before, as the season changes. While Edo-Tokyo Museum is a museum of replicas, Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum (羆???御?延根?????????????) is a collection of real architecture. Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum is located in Koganei, western Tokyo.? Architectures from the Edo period to Showa period are preserved. The museum enables visitors to actually enter and explore a wide variety of buildings of different styles, periods, and purposes:?from upper-class homes (for example, house of former Prime Minister?Korekiyo Takahashi <蕭?罘??????>), to pre-war shops, public baths (???康, Sento), and Western-style buildings of the?Meiji period.? These?are architectures which would normally be inaccessible to tourists or other casual visitors, or cannot be found in Tokyo. Edo-Tokyo Museum

The Edo-Tokyo Museum (羆???御?延根??????え) is a museum of the history of Tokyo, from the Edo period to today. One highlight of the permanent exhibitions are the?real scale replica of the landscape of the city of Edo (羆????, former name of Tokyo).? There are Nihombashi (??ユ????), a bridge leading into Edo, Nakamuraza, a famous Kabuki?theater, and more! There are also scale models of buildings from the Edo, Meiji?and?Showa periods, and?miniatures of the whole town. Special exhibitions are always on, too.? The present exhibition focuses on Sumidagawa?(?????医??), a river 23.5 km long which flows into Tokyo Bay. Though many historic landscapes are preserved in Japan, many of them are lost today.? World of “Spirited Away”

Spirited Away (????????絨????????????) might be one of the most famous of recent Japanese films. This film is a 2001 animated film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki(絎???薈?) and produced by Studio Ghibli (??鴻?帥?吾???吾?????). It is an adventure of a ten-year-old girl in a world of spirits and monsters. The film received many awards, including the second Oscar ever awarded for Best Animated Feature, the first anime film to win an Academy Award, and the first (and so far the only) non-English speaking animation to win. The film also won the Golden Bear at the 2002 Berlin International Film Festival and is among the top ten in the BFI list of the 50 films you should see by the age of 14. Origin of Marunouchi, Tokyo

In April 2010, a new museum in Marunouchi, Tokyo,?opened. This is the Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo (筝??偊???埌え臂?茵?蕕?).? It was completed in 2009, with approximately 800?sqm (8,600 sqft) of exhibition space, spread over 20 rooms, throughout the building’s 6,000?sqm (65,000 sqft) floorplan.? The museum focuses on 19th-century Western artwork. What?is special about Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, is that this building is a?precise recreation of the original Mitsubishi Ichigokan, which stood on the same location until 1968. Originally completed in 1894 and designed by British architect Josiah Condor, Mitsubishi Ichigokan was the first office building in Japan.? Marunouchi kept developing after Mitsubishi Ichigokan was built, and now the area is one of the foremost business districts in Japan.
